Easter Weekend 2011

The weekend of Easter, Mark's family was going to be down in Salt Lake so we all met down there to have some fun. We went to the Hogle Zoo on Friday. It was a little cold but we had fun. That night we went to the Mayan restaurant for dinner. Saturday morning we went to the Living Planet Aquarium which was a lot of fun. Then we headed over to the Discovery Gateway museum and the kids loved it. It was a busy weekend but we had a great time- there are lot of pictures!

The last thing we did this weekend was go the the Discovery Museum at the Gateway. It was so much fun. I remember going to the Childrens Museum when I was little. But this was even better. The kids could have stayed even longer than we did.

Henley's 4th Birthday

For Henley's 4th birthday this year all she asked for was a cake with a dog on it and to play pin the tail on the donkey. So we went from there. I asked if she would like to have a gymnastics party and she said she would. I talked to my boss at Airbound and we set it up. This was the first year that she got to invite friends and they had a blast. We did of course play pin the tail on the donkey and the next day she got her dog cake.
They loved jumping in the pit. My kids were a little wimpy but some of Henley's friends eventually did flips.

When Henley opened her presents she was a little confused. She thought her friends brought presents for themselves. So she kind of let them open their own presents. Once I told her they were all for her she was so excited.

That night Mark's mom and brother and sister came to town. We went to El Torro for dinner and they sang Happy Birthday to Henley and she was so embarrassed. Last year we took Henley to Texas Road House for her birthday dinner because she loves the peanuts. She asked about it all year but when I asked if that was where she wanted to go she said "No, I want McDonalds". The morning of her birthday we went to Carl's Jr. with Mark's family. Then we had both families over for lunch-make your own pizza and dessert.
Henley was thrilled with her Dog pillow pet and her Dora stuff (backpack and a pink shirt and orange shorts). Mark's mom got her a Littlest Pet shop hospital, and my mom got her a MobiGo laptop and an Ariel statue. Now she officially has all the toys in the world between Christmas and her birthday.

Christmas 2010

A few weeks before Christmas we went to Temple Square to see the lights. I have wanted to go every year since we have been married and we haven't ever gone. Finally, this year we made it. We went with my family and my dad wanted to ride the Front Runner from Ogden to Salt Lake so we did.

Temple Square. The lights were fun to see and Henley like the Nativity Scene. Unfortunately the visitor center closed as soon as we got there so we couldn't go in. And then right before we left we lost one of Beck's shoes. Besides that it was fun.

Riding home, we got on the Front Runner really early and had about an hour to spare. The kids should have been tired but they were out of control. Henley enjoyed her hot chocolate. Since no one else was on it yet, the kids just ran around.

Mark had thrown his back out a few weeks before this and it felt better for him to lay down.

We had a great time this Christmas. It came and went so fast but we had a lot of fun.
This is at our Ward Party. Beck was not a fan of Santa Claus, but Henley loved him. She kept telling us that she wanted to Rapunzel doll, Prince, and Horse from Santa for Christmas. Then she told Santa that she wanted a Dora costume. Mark said I thought you wanted Santa to get you a Rapunzel doll and Henley said "Why would Santa think that? I never told him that." Anyway she decided she did wanted the Rapunzel stuff after all and we managed to track down Santa at the mall and she told him what she wanted in time.

Christmas Eve. I love spending Christmas Eve at our own house with just our little family. We had been to lunch in Ogden with my Grandma Ozmun that day. We had been at my parents that evening before coming home. This year my dad decided to get everyone gifts. He actually did a really good job choosing gifts. He got the kids these character tents and the LOVED them. We always watch a Christmas movie on Christmas Eve and have nachos for dinner and then hot chocolate for a treat. Henley had to watch the movie in her tent. Then she had to sleep in it that night.

My mom got the kids these animal sleeping bags and they love them. I guess we didn't have that many pictures from the rest of the day. But we had a lot of fun.

Fall 2010

This post is a little backward, because I couldn't get the pictures to move. Here is a little bit of what we have been up to this last fall.
Disney on Ice with the cousins. This is our second year going to Disney on Ice. We had a great time and then headed over to the Gateway for lunch and shopping.

Mermaid Henley- she wanted to be Ariel but I didn't want to buy her a costume because she already had a mermaid tail, so I made her a top and she was fine to be Ariel wearing different colors.

The last weekend in August I can happily say that I completed the Top of Utah Half Marathon. I don't think I will do another one but I am very happy that I did this one.

The rest of the summer

I have not updated this since Beck's birthday, because we have had a super busy summer and our computer broke. This post is so long because it has the rest of the summer on it.

One of the weekends this summer we went up the canyon for dinner. It ended up raining so we didn't stay too long,but we still had fun.

Las Vegas Trip

Mark's family planned a Las Vegas trip the end of July. Because of swim lessons we were only able to go for about 2 1/2 days. We left after work Thursday and drove staight there and then we had to leave Sunday evening to be back to work on Monday. But I am glad we went, because it ended up being a lot of fun. My dad had to go down for work, so my whole family ended up going too. We spent part of the time with them until Mark's family got there.

The next day was very busy. We started out swimming in the pool. It was about 115 degrees while we were there. It got hot early in the morning, so swimming was great.

Then we went to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. This was a bit of a disapointment since we had just gone to a great aquarium in California when we were there in April. But the kids still had fun.

Then that night, we went to the dinner show at Excalibur. It was so much fun. You watch the knights fight and get a good meal that you have to eat with your hands.

Mark had to buy Henley a princess hat.

And then even later that night. Me and Mark went to see the Cirque de Soleil Mystere show. It was AMAZING. I highly recommend it to anyone. After the show we walked the strip and then stopped to eat a super cheap breakfast at 2:00am. We were a little bit tired.

We headed home the next day. But we had a great time. Thanks Grandma Huntsman!

The fair is one of my favorite things of the whole summer. We only took a couple of pictures. We rode some rides and had some good food.

My brother Kyle, came home from his mission in Omaha Nebraska in August. My parents went out to pick him up and we met them all at the airport. It is good to have him home.

We are also busy, trying to sell our house to we can build a new one on a little bit more land. So if you know anyone that wants a house, let me know I will post pictures of it later.

Beck's First Birthday!

June 23rd was Beck's first Birthday! Seriously, I can't believe it has been a year, with each kid the times goes faster and faster. He opened presents from us that morning but his party wasn't for a couple more days. He loves this wagon filled with blocks, he also got an outfit, and some Disney toys. At his one year check up he weighed 20.13 lbs and was 30.25 inches. He is happy unless he is hungry or tired but, he has started throwing little fits lately. He knows about 10 word. He is now into climbing (Henley never climbed on anything) and he is a little wild boy. He loves Henley so much and he really likes the dogs.

I could not decide what kind of party to have for him. I was going to just do animals but then I remembered that Beck has this stuffed Mickey Mouse that he always gets out of his toy box and loves to give it hugs and carry it around. Then I turned on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and he freaked out and got so excited. Let me also say that Me and Henley love Disney stuff and I single handedly support the Disney Movie Club, so I am glad Beck enjoys Mickey Mouse too.

Mark usually makes the cakes but he didn't care if I gave it a try this time and I think it turned out just fine.

I probably could have just got Beck balloons and not presents and he would have been so happy. He LOVED these balloons and who can blame him they're awesome.

Unfortunately, Mark's family couldn't make it.

Busy busy

We have been very busy this spring/summer so far and I think we only get busier for the rest of the summer. So here is what we have been up to. Last Friday Mark wanted to go on a picnic to the park so we packed up and had a lot of fun. Beck was so excited to eat all the bark and find sticks. Henley was excited to pack a picnic and packed up a bag of turkey, some cheese and a jar of mayo before Mark decided to help her make a sandwich before we left the house. It was such a nice day, here are some pictures.

A few weeks ago while I was busy at home Mark took Henley up in the mountains with our friend Phil and Maureen and their little boy Donovan.

On the way home they stopped at the temple to hang out and take some pictures. Henley loves the temple and always tells us she is going to get married there. Whenever she can see it when we are driving around she gets so excited.

Updates

Well our computer is officially broken so I can't update my blog from home for awhile. Then our waterproof camera got water in it and broke, really? Anyway I don't have any pictures but I have not updated for a while so here is what we've been up to. Beck took his first steps around 9 1/2 months but just started really walking about a month ago. He cracks me up just cruising around everywhere, he looks like a raptor dinosaur to me when he walks, I wish I had a video of it. He will be one next week, hopefully we have a new camera by then. He actually talks quite a bit, I know people think he doesn't say realy words but since I am with him all day I make the judgement call and I say he does say the following words: Dada, hi dada (while holding the phone to his ear), mama, dat (that), up, and when I read him certain books he tries to say peek-a-boo. I can't belive it has almost been one year since I had him and we absolutely love having him in our lives. Henley is just a silly three year old who loves to play pretend all day. Lately, she love to pretend she is the mom and I am the little girl who she calls "honey" all day. Sometimes I wish she had a twin sister to play with cuz I can't always play pretend all day, even though it would be nice. Henley and Beck are just the best of friends and I am so grateful for that. Even though Beck pull her hair and she takes his toys, they are always happy to see each other. I will try to post pictures as soon as I can.

California Trip

The first week of April we went to Las Vegas/California (along with most of the state of Utah). We used my grandma's time share and stayed at a great condo-the same one me and Mark stayed in on our honeymoon. My mom and sister took both of my kids and flew to Las Vegas while me and Mark drove with my dad and brother. We all stayed the night in Vegas and then drove the rest of the way to Newport Beach, CA. The weather wasn't great until the second half of the trip but it was better than Utah.

Aquarium of the Pacific

This aquarium was so much fun. We have gone to the aquarium in Hawaii and it wasn't great, so we were a little nervous to try this one. But, it was supposed to rain that day -it didn't-but we decided to give it a try. It had so many fun exhibits and you could touch the sharks, sting rays, and star fish.

The only thing Henley would touch was the starfish.

The plan was to go to Disneyland on Wednesday because we knew it was supposed to be good weather. My dad and brother and sister were also going to Six flags and Mark was going deep sea fishing. So that left me, my mom, and the kids with nothing to do on Tuesday. It turned out that was ok. We headed to the pool, even though it was barely warm enough, like 70 degrees. Henley had fun, but Beck only wanted to be in the pool for a minute. Then the kids got naps and when Mark got home we all went to get dinner in Laguna Beach.

Wednesday was a very warm day so we headed to Disneyland. We knew it would be busy and it was but we still had fun. We had done the Disney Service thing to get free tickets so it was really worth it. We didn't get to go on a lot of the rides that we would have liked but we were worn out by the end of the day.

Busy, Busy!

Well we have been pretty busy lately. Here is what we've been up to.

First a random picture of the dogs. Normally, I would get mad at them for being up on the couch but I thought this was kind of cute since these two are best buds.

Beck

Beck has become such a busy little boy. He is crawling everywhere including up the stairs, yikes. He pulls himself up on everything and walks/cruises around things. He loves playing with his toys and eating. I think he officially said his first word which was of course Dada. Why wouldn't it be Mama? I'm only the person who carried him for 9 months, nursed him, and take care of him every day but sure say Dada first. I'm really not bitter, Henley said Dada first too. Beck actually said Hi Dada first a few weeks ago. Now he just says Dada.

Henley was playing with the camera a while ago and took this picture of Beck. He was waiting for his breakfast and this is how he felt about it. He loves to eat and gets so mad when he has to wait.

He rarely sits down to play with things, he loves to stand.

I was trying to take pictures of Henley the other day and as soon as Beck saw the camera he came right over. He loves to have his picture taken, the problem is he won't stay still. He just crawls closer and closer to the camera.

What a babe.

We just found out a few weeks ago that Mark's grandpa Wayne has stage 4 melanoma. Which really sucks. We are wishing him all the best and hope he feels better. We went to visit right after we got the news and here are pictures of Beck playing with aunt Tia. As you can see she has food and so he is very interested in her. He probably would have been interested even if she didn't have food, everyone like aunt Tia.

The other day I heard a crash come from the kitchen and Beck had stood up and pulled this bin of toys on the ground and he was quite proud of himself. He is the sweetest little boy and we love him so much.

Right before Valentines Day Henley was begging for pink Valentine cupcakes at the grocery store. So of course I bought them and for some reason she got frosting all over herself including her hair. She is really a much messier eater than Beck.

We also finally finished Henley's new room. Her and Beck have been sharing for a few months and it was really crowded. She loves her new room and I love that they each have their own space. The day the carpet got finished she started moving stuff down all by herself.

Grandma Huntsman came to stay a few weekends ago so me and Mark could go away for our birthdays/anniversary. She bought some paint and pages to color. After she left we were all painting some pages. I left for a minute and came back to this. Sadly, Mark initiated it and Henley was just a victim.

Mark's grandpa has a tiny violin that we are borrowing so Henley can do violin lessons. We are not crazy parents that expect her to be a great violinist, but for now she is excited about it. Hopefully, she learns more about music than me, which shouldn't be hard because I know nothing. One of Mark's swim teachers teaches violin out of her house and so we decided to let Henley do some lessons.

Mark said she did such a good job and her teacher was very impressed. She even remembered everything when she got home and told me all about what she learned. She knew all the parts of the violin and how to hold it and even played me a song. Here she is practicing.

What's Up?

Well we haven't been to much lately but here are a few pictures. Beck started crawling about a month ago (6 1/2 months) and I can tell he is going to be a very busy boy. He gets mad sometimes when he is being held, because he wants down so he can move. As soon as he started crawling he started pulling himself up and cruising around things. He acts like he wants to take off walking, but hopefully that doesn't happen too soon. These pictures were taken about a month ago, right before he started to crawl. He would push himself up on his toes and hands and just sit there. Then he started showing off by lifting up one leg and pushing his butt up in the air.

Funny pictures of Henley. She fell asleep in the car the other day on the way home from work. I didn't want her to nap because it was like 6:00 at night. I tried sitting her up so she would wake up but she didn't. Finally, I mentioned brownies and she came walking right into the kitchen.

Henley's 3rd Birthday

Well our little girl turned three on January 8th. It's a little bit crazy how fast time flies but that's ok. She had a few requests for her big day. Of course,she wanted a Princess Party .since she has been so into princesses lately. Second, she didn't want any of her presents wrapped, she said "Mom, just give them to me, don't wrap them." Um ok, I'm not sure where that came from but easier for me. So I put a blanket over her unwrapped gifts and that was that. She got a Play-doh set, a pizza party set for her play kitchen, and a green dress, since dresses are about all she wears. Mark also put balloons all over her room, which she loved.

Her third request was to eat at the peanut place-or Texas Roadhouse. We tried to go Friday night but there was a 90 minute wait so we went for lunch on Saturday. I asked her what she was going to eat and she said peanuts and mashed potatoes.

When they came around to sing to her and let her sit on the saddle she got really shy. But then when they left she wanted to ride on it so she got a second chance on the way out...and she was quite happy about it.

Then on the way home uncle Rich called to wish her a happy birthday, so Mark put it on Blue Tooth because she wouldn't talk on the phone. Well she decided not to talk or listen to Rich at all. What a stinker.

We had our families over(to my parent's house) for homemade Costa Vida and of course cake and ice cream.

Mark made her cake again this year and Henley was so excited by it.

Luckily, Henley has been quite a bit nicer lately, thank goodness. She can be the sweetest little girl in the world and we are so lucky to have her. She tells us she loves us about ten times a day, usually out of no where, which is nice to hear. She is such a good big sister and Beck loves being around her. She has wanted to be held lately and wants to cuddle with us, I know that is not going to last so we will take all the cuddles we can get. Happy Birthday Henley we love you.

Christmas 2009

Christmas Eve. We went to lunch with my family on Christmas Eve. Then we went to open presents with them. My siblings all do a DI Gift exchange. We started it last year and it is really fun. Then Henley and Beck got to open their presents from Grandma & Grandpa.

We decided to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at our house with our little family before heaeding to Wyoming. It was nice to do whatever we wanted and spend time with just us. We watched a few Christmas movies and had some treats. Then the kids headed to bed and yes Santa came.

Winter Fun

When it snowed alot a few weeks ago Mark had to go help shovel at the church at 6:30am. When he wasn't back at 9:30 I started to wonder where he was. Well he was outside building Henley a snow castle. It even had a mot and a bridge and of course a door and window. Then they went and played all morning and we were almost late for church.

The night before that we went to our Ward Christmas Party and Henley got to see Santa. She told him she wants a Sleeping Beauty Dancing Barbie in a blue dress (not quite what Santa had in mind, so he told me, but hopefully he can figure that one out)

Well she hasn't liked naps lately so when it got quite I should have gone and checked but I was hoping she might really be sleeping. Um, I was wrong. I walked in and walked right back out and luckily Mark took a picture to share.

Yep, baby powder all over the place. At least she smelled good, but she got that stuff on most of Beck's clothes and all over his changing table. Well nap time over and we all had a good laugh.

Here are some funny videos of Beck. Lately he has been talking like crazy and especially when Mark was talking to him in this video.

At his four month check-up he was about right where he should be in terms of weight and height. He is much bigger than Henley was at this age. He started rolling over about a month ago and now he does it all the time. Then he gets mad when he is on his tummy for too long, he forgets that he can roll back over if he wants.

There's a first time for everything

When Mark's family came down for Beck's blessing, we decided to go bowling. This was Henley's first bowling experience and she loved it.

Another first was Beck's first swimming experience. He really liked it and Henley was so excited that we were all going swimming together.

Mark got us an underwater camera a few months ago and it gets used alot.

Thank goodness we don't have to pay for swim lessons with the best teacher in town.

Beck was really happy the whole time. He loves bath time so I wasn't surprised that he loved the pool. It was a lot of fun and now Beck can start swimming and hopefully be the good swimmer that Henley is.

Yesterday we finally blessed Beck. It was such a great day, we had most of our family members there. Mark did a great job and luckily Beck behaved himself. He started crying as soon as they went up but then after a minute he fell asleep. Here are some pics of the day.

The end of the summer

Here are the rest of the summer pictures that I forgot about. When we went to Snowbird with Mark's family it was Carter's birthday so we stopped at Chuck E Cheese on the way. This is now one of Mark's new favorite places and he wishes we had a Chuck E Cheese here.

Snowbird Trip and Summer Fun

The first weekend in August we went up the Snowbird resort with Mark's family. It was a lot of fun. We went on the Alpine Slide (Mark fell out of Alpine Slide and got so battle wounds), went on the zipline, rode the mechanical bull, went up the mountain in a tram, and the kids got to play with Grandma. We also did family pictures which was especially great for us because I don't have a new family picture since Beck was born. Thanks to Mark's mom for watching both kids so Mark and I could go enjoy the activities.

Also, since things have slowed down a little bit at work, Mark has got to spend lots of time with Henley. He said he is trying to steal her away from me. That will never happen she will always like me the best. Anyway, they have gone up in the mountains with the dogs, gone fishing, fed the ducks and built a fort. Mark even took her to Claire's (girl accessory store) when she stopped wearing Pull-Ups to bed. She has asked for her Daddy a couple of days when Mark has been at work, so she must really like both of us.

Henley wanted to play fetch in the backyard the other day. So we would throw something and she would pretend to be a dog and go fetch it. She ended up running right into the fence and biting her lip.

This was what I came home to last night. They were watching Alvin and the Chipmunks with popcorn in their "tent" as Henley called it.

Plus, we are so lucky because this is the other adorable face we get to look at everyday. Beck is now two months old. He is starting to make cute noises and he smiles and laughs all the time. He really loves Henley and tries to look for her whenever he hears her voice. He is the sweetest little baby and happy for the most part. He is sleeping good at night which helps keep me sane. All in all we couldn't be happier.

Gone Fishing

Last Friday I went shopping in Park City with my sister. I took Beck but left Henley home with Mark. They spent to whole day together and had a lot of fun. He told me later that he thought it was unfair to leave her with him without doing her hair and making it look cute before I left. He really doesn't like when her hair is not done or when she has stuff on her face. The next morning Mark wanted to take Henley fishing on the boat, so they went fishing. Henley loves fishing with Dad especially since he bought her her very own fishing rod. They did not catch any fish although Henley told me that they did, but I think they had plenty of fun.

The real reason Henley loves fishing is the snacks. Swedish fish and sunflower seeds which she tries to eat but just spits everywhere (Mark got a video of that).

They did not bring towels but still decided to get completely soaked.

So glad they had so much fun.

On July 23rd Beck was officially one month old. I can not believe how fast that month went. I actually felt like I was barely pregnant, the hospital experience seemed like it never happened and the month flew by. We have been so busy this summer and that is probably why it went by so quick. This picture of him and Henley was taken on the 23rd. Henley was watching Mickey Mouse and asked if her baby brother could lay by her. She seriously loves her baby brother. Here are some other pictures of what we have been up to. We went over to feed the ducks at the park. Henley even fed one right out of her hand but that made her a little nervous.

We went to Boise this weekend for Mark's Grandmas funeral. She was 92 and had been sick for awhile. While we were there Henley got to go swimming with Grandma Huntsman and Carter and Jill.

She loves swimming but is not a big fan of sprinklers or any kind. You can tell she was kind of enjoying this fountain.

Even though right now Henley is upstairs throwing a major tantrum in her room she is turning into a big girl. She started crawling out her crib lately so Mark took the front off and now she has a "big girl bed". She slept in it for the first time last night and fell out. Luckily, it's not that far off the ground. I have the cutest twin bed for her but I am waiting until I need the crib for Beck before I set it up for her. We have been lucky that she hasn't wanted to climb out yet so we could just stick her in there and she would go to sleep. Also, yesterday in nursery she brought home some paper with the fishes and loaves on them. She was talking about the fish and playing with them during sacrament. While we were eating dinner last night out of nowhere she says " Jesus blessed the bread and gave everyone a little bit." It brought tears to my eyes which sounds a little silly but it was the first time I knew that she listened in nursery. She always tells us that she sang songs and played in nursery but has never told us specifically what she learned. I guess I didn't expect at 2 1/2 that she would have the attention span to listen to a story about Jesus and remember it for later. What a special little girl we have. We love both of our kids very very much.

Well life is pretty busy with two kids, who knew? Anyway, everyone is doing well here is what we have been up to. Beck had his first bath about two weeks ago, his cord fell off so early. I think Henley's took more than a month to fall off. He wasn't sure what to think at first but then he seemed to enjoy it.

Well this is my first official post since the baby was born. Luckily Mark got some pictures up for everyone to see. Here are some more from the hospital and at home. This little guy changes in about every picture. Mark says we are 99% sure that his name is Beck, no middle name yet but at least we are making progress towards his name. The labor and delivery was so much better than it was with Henley thank goodness, I could not have done that again. I am so grateful that he his here and healthy. Henley still seems to really love him and is being a good big sister.

In the hospital he slept most of the time except when Mark had him. He liked to just look at his dad and I think Mark felt the same way towards him.

We are very happy that Henley is finally potty trained. I guess finally isn't the right word since she is not even 2 1/2 but right after she turned two she was actually really close to being potty trained. Since then she has gone through phases and even a month ago would get so mad when I took her to the bathroom. She spent some time in Wyoming with Mark's family a few weeks ago and then when she got home I just put her in underwear and eventually she started doing really good. She does have occasional accidents but for the most part she has been in underwear for a week and a half and is doing great. About the same time I started putting her in underwear she went potty one day and said " I learned it mom." Since then it seems like she really did "learn it" and has wanted to keep her underwear dry. She also really doesn't like diapers any more, when I put them on at night she asks to wear her underwear. I am so proud of her but I am a little nervous to see what happens when the baby comes. There were times when I thought she would be three and not potty trained and then it just seemed to click on day, thank goodness. Good job Henley! *Baby update: I went to the doctor last Friday and he said that he would be surprised if I made it another week without going in to labor. He wanted me to come in today and I wasn't much further along so he thinks I might make it to next week. We have so much going this next week, so I really need to make it to a least next Tuesday the 23rd and then any time after that is ok with me. I know that I don't really have a choice if this baby wants to come it will and that will be just fine too. He said if I have not had it by next Friday he will induce if I want to be induced. But, then again he told me my water could break any time and if I have contractions to head to the hospital and I would have the baby. So the bottom line is we should have it by next Friday at the latest ( unless I decide not to be induced) or I could have it tonight. I feel a little overwhelmed this time around because this pregnancy has gone so so fast but I am also very excited for Henley to have a sibling and to know what this baby is (my guess is a boy). I will keep you posted.

Time Flies...

Last Tuesday was Henley's last day of gymnastics. I can't believe that she has done it for 9 months. I was debating about doing a summer class with her but we would only get a couple weeks worth before the baby comes so I decided we should take a break until next fall. She loved going to class each week to see her friends and she loved Coach Chelsea. Her are some pictures from her last day.I also have a video of her walking on the low beam all by herself that I will try to post later.

Florida Trip

Last week we got the chance to go visit Mark's friend Louis and his family in Florida. Mark also had some work certification to do while we were there. Louis' family lives down by Miami so we got to do some fun things in Southern Florida and then go up to Orlando and go to Disneyworld. It was such a great trip and we are so glad they let us stay with them while we were there.We flew in late Friday night and went straight to their house. Saturday we took Henley and their little girl Baylee to the Miami Zoo. It was so hot but a lot of fun. Warning: this is the longest post I have ever done. Longer than all my other posts combined but we did have a weeks worth of pictures so sorry.

Day two: The beach

After church and naps on Sunday we went down to play at the beach. The girls built sand castles and splashed in the water. The beach was closing soon after we got there so we didn't get to stay too long but they had fun. Me and Alice (Louis' wife) are both pregnant so we were lucky that these girls have great dads who like to play so we could take a break and just watch them play.

Day 3: Everglades Alligator Farm, Swimming, and Baseball Game

We told Henley she was going to see Baylee, Alligators, Crocodiles, and Mickey Mouse on our trip. So Monday she got to see #2 and #3 on that list. We got to go the alligator farm and go on an airboat ride and see some alligators, crocodiles, and snakes.

That night we went to a Marlins game, we forgot the camera so Mark took this with his camera phone. We left after the 12th inning but the Marlins did end up winning.

Day 4: Shopping and Miami Beach

Tuesday Louis and Alice both had to work and Mark had to go do his certification stuff so I had both girls for the morning. I thought it would be a great idea to take them shopping for matching shirts. What a mistake, they did not get along at all and I was trying to deal with 2 two year olds, oh well we got home and it was nap time. That night we went to Miami Beach to hang out and try to find some celebrities. Funny story, on the way down Mark was telling Louis about a show we watch called Burn Notice and how it is filmed in Miami Beach. He was joking around saying we would probably see some of the people on the show. After the beach we went to get dinner and then I wanted ice cream. I went to get some gelato and who is right in front of me in line? Fiona from the show. Anyway I went to tell Mark and he ended up telling her that he loved Wild Hearts Can't be Broken ( she was in that movie a long time ago) and that we love Burn Notice. What are the odds of that happening really? Of course we didn't have the camera then but oh well.

Day 5: Orlando and Chef Mickeys

We had made reservations for Chef Mickey's in Orlando so we wouldn't have to spend half the day in Disneyworld looking for Mickey Mouse. It turned out to be a lot of fun. The girls thought it was great to see all the characters. Henley did have to touch all the character and squeeze most of their noses.

Ok are you kidding me? I am still convinced that this is Johnny Depp and they pay him the big bucks to stand inside the Pirates of the Carribean ride all day, it looked just like him.

After about an hour wait they got to go on the Dumbo ride, you can tell Mark is excited about it.

Mark told her to pull the sword out and she was determined to do it, until we told her it doesn't come out.

This last weekend was so nice outside, finally. We went to Baby Animal Days, and had a lot of fun. Henley loved seeing the animals of course. Later that day Mark wanted to take Henley fishing on the boat so he went and bought her, her very own Barbie fishing rod (as she calls it) and tackle box. He tried taking her on the boat last summer and she freaked out. This year she had so much fun. We went with our friend Phil and Mar, had a little dinner and enjoyed the nice weather. I have to apologize for all the pictures again. I will do a slide show next time

Easter Weekend

I have not had much of anything to post lately so sorry about that. And sorry ahead of time for so many pictures on this post but we finally have new pictures. Of course last weekend was Easter and we stayed pretty busy. Thursday night my Grandpa and his wife Tana stopped by to give Henley a cute new dress. She immediately wanted to put it on and wore it Friday and Saturday, thanks Grandpa. That night we were going up to my parents for a little while and these first pictures I took right before we left. Mark was making fun of her outfit, dress, wings, crown, and boots with socks but I figured since we were just going up to see family it didn't really matter. Then she went out front with her shovel and her doggy Max and had some fun "digging".
Not sure what happened in this picture or why she was crying but I thought it was funny.

I went to Park City with my mom and sister on Friday night and we did a little shopping at the outlets. I go do all of Henley's shopping for the whole year down at the outlets and get some great deals. When I got home on Saturday we colored Easter eggs which Henley liked but she kept wanting to put the colored eggs in more and more colors so some of them turned out brown. Oh well she had fun.

Of course the Easter bunny found Henley and brought her some good things. She has the Candyland Castle game and loves it so for Easter she got the real Candyland game. Her and Mark played and she didn't understand how to play but one day she will. Also, the lamb was from Petsmart but she carried it around the store the last time we were there so the Easter bunny thought she must really want it. Daddy Easter bunny set up a fun egg hunt so when she woke up she got to have an Easter egg hunt to find her new things.

Easter morning right before we headed off to church. She loved her dress and insisted that it was Cinderella's dress, I'm not sure why. I actually bought this dress at Family Dollar last year but thought it would work for an Easter dress so I just saved it until now. She kept twirling around in it. She also loved her curly hair and new shoes. She told everyone at nursery about it.

After church we went up to my parents house, where Henley got a little surprise from Grandma, a little cupcake baking set to go in her D.I. Kitchen that we found awhile ago. She also got some books, a bunny purse and an Ariel doll from her other Grandma last week which she loves.

And last but not least one of her new outfits from the outlet stores. I found this cute cherry shirt and I wanted to get her the cute green jacket but I decided on another jacket. Random Stuff and Baby Bump

Nothing much has been going on lately so here is some random pictures. The weather has been a little nicer after that last snow storm so we went to the park last week. I didn't get any good pictures but we had fun. The other ones of Henley are just funny ones that I decided to post.

She brought me the camera the other day and asked me to take a picture of her so she could look at it. So this is what we got, what a babe with those big eyes, gotta love her.

The other day this is where she decided to sit and have something to drink.

And finally, some baby bump pictures. I attempted to take these but the camera wouldn't zoom out far enough to get a good picture. I am about 6 months and I can promise you that I am bigger than these pics show. Maybe one day I will have Mark take a good picture or maybe not.

Snow Day

The other day I was thinking about how Henley hasn't really used her snow gear that she got this year and that we should have done more in the snow. However, I was very dissapointed to wake up to a foot of snow on Monday, I really don't like the snow. So we went out to shovel and Henley had a great time scooping up the snow with her "shovel" and eating it. The whole time I shoveled she sat on the porch eating snow. When I got done she decided to take a walk in the snow and even dug herself a little snow cave that she sat in. She had so much fun and I had to about drag her inside because her little face was bright red and freezing. Other than not much has been going on. The pregnancy is going pretty good other than sometimes I feel huge but that is normal. Mark has started selling this new water called ASEA, it helps the immune system and it is pretty amazing stuff. Hopefully, I will have more to post soon.

When I was at work on Tuesday, one of the lady's that works in Kids Klub(daycare) came up to me and told me that her son had just bit Henley. She told me that it didn't break the skin and that Henley was ok but it did leave a pretty good bruise. She keeps telling people that the boy bit her cheek. Mark was not happy because he is worried that it ruined her face but I am sure it will go away. Anyway, these pictures were taken two days later and it looks a lot better than it did the first night. Also Henley is so close to being potty trained. She only has about one accident a day. Sometimes she would just rather play than go potty and there is nothing I can do about that. Anyway, I guess something is better than nothing. When I was doing this post she wanted a picture of her and daddy, so I put this one that Mark took of them on Sunday morning because I thought it was cute.

Four Years

I am a couple days late posting but we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on Wednesday (Feb. 18th). Sometimes I can't believe it has been 4 years and then sometimes I feel like it should be more than 4 years. Anyway, I am so glad to be celebrating four great years together and just wanted to let Mark know how much I love him. I think he is such a great dad and husband. On our anniversary I had to work and I thought Mark had a class but when I came home from work he had made us a great steak dinner. Him and Henley had gone to the store and got me a beautiful flower. Yesterday we were able to go out to a movie (Taken-which was very good), and go to dinner at Iggy's. It was nice to go on a date just the two of us and spend some time together. I think most of our wedding pictures were taken with film so the only digital ones I had were engagements and bridals so I posted a few of those. It's funny how different we both look. Happy Anniversary Mark, I love you.

What's new...

Well I feel like I haven't posted in a long time but we haven't been up to much. We had a good Valentine's Day. We all went to lunch at Quizno's, went to read to cats at the Humaine Society (Mark is doing service there for one of his classes, and Henley had so much fun), and then we just hung out. Also, Mark and Henley made a great breakfast that morning. It was great to spend the day together. Since our 4th anniversary is coming up we decided to wait until next weekend to go out instead of fighting the crowds on Valentine's Day. I am also planning on posting some belly pictures sometime but I am not too excited to show off my ever growing belly. We are officialy counting down to the baby now and it seems like it will be here really soon, yay. Henley had a play date with her friend Kendyl last week and they had a lot of fun. I didn't get a great picture but you get the idea. Also, Mark took this video last night. I was reading Henley some books before bed and she decided that she wanted to read them to me. So she grabbed one that she loves Sesame Street- I can do it myself (Me and Mark both had this book growing up) and started reading. It was so funny the first time she "read" each page exactly right, I guess she has heard it a lot plus the girl has an amazing memory. Then when Mark tried to get in on video she was kind of being silly as you can see and was more concerned with the camera.

It's a BABY! Well sorry to really dissapoint but we did not find out the sex of the baby. The good news is that it looked healthy and really that's all that matters. I decided that I don't know what I want yet and so I really didn't want to know yet. We haven't decided on any names and thinking about it this time gives me a headache. To be honest I would love another girl, cuz I really like the one I've got. A part of me wants a boy because I know I want at least one boy and then I would have one of each. I really don't know what to do with a boy cuz all I've had is a girl, so to be honest a boy scares me a little. I know it wouldn't if I had one but oh well. But as silly as it sounds I like just knowing that "the baby" is healthy and not knowing what is is. Here are the pictures maybe you can all guess what it is.

Well it's a little weird that I thought about all my blessings this week. Our water heater broke on Sunday but instead of being mad about it I realized how lucky we are. Mark mentioned that is makes you appreciate the pioneers a little bit more and that got me thinking. We still have running water, heat, shelter, food, and our health. Who cares if we have to boil water to wash dishes or heat up water for Henley's bath. I have had to go to my parents house to shower but it's not really a big deal. Sure this is an inconvience that we have probably taken for granted along with all of our other "luxuries" but we will survive. I am just so grateful for everything that we still do have and I hope this makes me appreciate all the little things a little more often. Don't get me wrong I hope we get this fixed soon, but I'm glad I had a chance to realize how grateful I am for everything else.

Beautiful Baby Contest

Well every year Regis and Kelly have a beautiful baby contest. The first year Henley was not old enough and last year I didn't submit a picture in time. So this year I finally did it. Ready to Party Time

On January 10th we had Henley's birthday party. The week before she kept saying "Mom, is it Ready to Party Time?" I don't know where she learned this but she knew there was going to be a party. She wanted to swim, have balloons, and have a blue cake. So we had our family's come swim at the Sports Academy with us and it was a lot of fun. After, we had pizza and cake at our house

Luckily, we were able to get another Winnie the Pooh balloon, which she loved and still loves to play with. It is really bigger than she is.

I was planning on making her cake but Mark decided to do it. He stayed up until 3:00am the night before making the cake to look like the 100 acre wood. He must really like Henley. It turned out great. Henley even helped him dye the cake blue with food coloring so the actual cake was blue like she wanted.

The Ready to Party hats. This was another thing she wanted for the party. Every time she has put a hat on the last few weeks she says, "I'm ready to party". So we got some hats and she loved them.

Checking out her presents. I'm pretty sure she had every toy there is. With birthday and Christmas I don't think there is anything else she could possibly want.

We had a lot of fun and it was great of both of our families to come. I can't believe I have a two year old. And in two short years I will have a four year old. Holy cow. I think if it's possible I love her even more every day. We are so glad we have her in our lives.

Well I am a day late posting but yesterday (January 8th) was Henley's 2nd Birthday. It was a little more exciting than last year because she knew what was going on. Mark had put balloons all over her room before she woke up and she was so excited about that. Ever since I started planning her party about a week ago she has been so excited for balloons. But, since her party isn't until Saturday Mark thought she should have some balloons on her birthday. She opened her presents from us she got, a birthday book, a new swim suit, Candyland Castle game, and some Littlest Pet shop animals. She really liked everything and we even played the Candyland Castle game and it was fun for her. Unfortunately, I had to go to work so we didn't do much the rest of the day but we did go out for ice cream last night to celebrate. We are having a little swimming party for her tomorrow so I will have more pictures to post then. A side note about my balloon fiasco today. I had special ordered a huge walking Winnie the Pooh balloon last week. They don't normally have the Winnie the Pooh ones so I was lucky to get it in time. I picked up all of her balloons today for the party tomorrow. We got home and in the house and I realized the Pooh balloon was not with the other ones. I looked outside and it was floating over the golf course. Poor Henley kept saying "But I want the Pooh balloon mom." She asked me to go get it a couple of times and I had to tell her it was gone. Luckily, Macey's had order two when they ordered mine so they have one more left that I can get for the party. I would have felt awful if they didn't. That was the whole reason I got balloons was for this awesome Winnie the Pooh one. I guess it will all work out. Happy birthday Henley, we love you.

We went swimming while we were in Lyman. Mark said "Do you think Henley would jump off the diving board?" We guessed whether she would or not. Me and Mark's mom guessed that she would. Sure enough she jumped with no problem at all. She has a lot of Mark in her because I was so scared of diving board my whole life. I know it is just the small diving board but I think it is still impressive since she is so small.

Christmas

This year we were in Logan for Christmas Eve and Christmas. We went to Lyman on the 26th and 27th to see Mark's family. Henley got Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve and a Christmas Book. We watched a movie but I can't remember which one, I know it was like 4 days ago but I can't remember. Henley was so excited about each gift on Christmas morning. She got a baby doll play set from Santa and she would have played with that all day. I asked if she wanted to open another present and she said "No, I'm playing." Anyway, eventually we opened all the gifts. Mark is refinishing a rocking chair for me and the new baby, that was his gift to me. We each got some clothes, and Mark got kitchen gadgets which he loves. I got a Scentsy from Mark's mom which I was very excited about. We went to my parents for breakfast and to talk to my brother Kyle who was calling from his mission in Nebraska. We opened presents there and then waited for my Grandpa and his wife Tana and the Kirschmans. It was a lot of fun, and then we got snowed in. My parents only live about 5 minutes away but it snowed about a foot on Christmas night so we stayed the night at my parents. The next day we headed to Lyman to see the Huntsmans. I have no idea why we don't have that many pictures but this is about all I could find.

We had a VERY generous gift left on our doorstep last night. We don't know who it was from although we have an idea. I just wanted to say how much we appreciate this gift and how much it meant to our family. I won't go in to details and I don't know if the person who did it will ever read this, but I want to let everyone know how grateful we are for this. We were very touched by how thoughtful this gift is and hope one day we can do the same for someone else. We also want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. I hope everyone can feel the Christmas Spirit that we have felt this year. Thank you whoever you are.

French Braids

Well the pictures pretty much speak for themselves. Henley's hair is long enough for french braids. I am so glad she got Mark's hair genes, because I don't think my mom could french braid my hair until I was in second grade. Her hair is so long and I love it. She is also so good about letting me do her hair. After her bath she watches either Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or My friends Tigger and Pooh and lets me do whatever I want to her hair. Then when I am done she says " Thank you mom." Once in a while she will play with her hair when I'm done and say "It's pretty hair" or "It's beautiful,mom". What a funny girl. And you can see Jersey enjoys the morning cartoons with Henley, she is out cold next to Henley on the bed. The last picture is of her newest find in our house, the loft in our bedroom. She loves it which is great but you have to sit there until she wants down in case she tries to jump off. Oh well.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of our great friends and family who are so excited for us. We are so blessed to have you all in our lives. I also just wanted to say that just like with Henley we will not be finding out the sex of the baby until it is born. Sorry to dissapoint any of you who just can't wait but you're going to have to. I promise it is so fun to do it this way, it's like actually waiting until Christmas to open your presents instead of peeking in October. We loved doing it this way with Henley and will be excited when that day comes to find out what it is. Neither of us care what it is anyway so it really doesn't matter. I would like to have a boy to be different, but I would love another girl cuz I really like the one we've got and then they could be close. Anyway I am starting a little poll of baby names for a boy or a girl, vote and let me know what names you like or hate and don't be afraid to be honest. Or if you have any great name suggestions let us know. Thanks for everything we love you.

Oh Baby... Here we go again

Oh Baby... Here we go again
Well the title of this post pretty much says it all. We are expecting our second baby! We had our first doctors appointment today and they did an ultrasound and everything looks good. The baby has a strong heartbeat and had all four limbs so that is great. I am due around July 1st, but the doctor told me I could be induced a week early. What a difference the second baby is, with Henley he did not want to induce me but he is already telling me he will induce me with this baby. The ultrasound said I was 11 weeks and 1 day pregnant which would actually make me due June 29th, but he said they would set it for July 2nd. So around the end of June we should have our second baby. I thought for awhile that it might be twins because I got so big so fast, but I guess that is really how 2nd babies work. It is not twins and I am a little bit relieved, not that I wouldn't have been thrilled if it was. Henley has been so sweet the whole time, when I don't feel good she gets so concerned. "Mommy you don't feel good?" "Mommy you feel better now?". What a sweetheart. I tried out the accupressure bands and every morning she says "Mommy, you need your bracelets, you feel better". She is already a little mommy herself and I'm sure she will be such a good big sister. We were actually shooting to have a baby the end of the summer or beginnning of the fall, but I will just say I must be meant to have kids cuz we get to have one earlier that we thought. We are all so excited and I will keep you posted.

Well I have been wanting Mark to edit our family pics from a while ago so that I could put them up on our wall. Our only pictures in our living room, are our wedding day and Henley at 4 months old. I am a little behind. Anyway, I painted these canvas' which I saw on HGTV and needed big pics to put on them. So they are finally done, here are the pictures we chose to use. Well Mark took these videos on his camera phone so the quality is not great. Mark took a day off to hang out with Henley while I went to work and they went to the park. Henley would stay there all day long, she is not afraid of the big slides and she always has a lot of fun. I hope they work ok, enjoy.

Halloween Party

My cousin Adam and his wife Hilary had a great Halloween party this year. The whole Kirschman family minus Max and my whole family minus Kyle went and partied. I was pretty impressed by everyone's costumes. They put a lot of effort into it. We carved pumpkins, ate great food, and played some games. Thanks guys we had fun. My camera battery kept dying so I didn't get a lot of pics, but there is more on my mom's camera. I also had more pictures from Halloween that I will post later.

Jake was a construction worker, Mason an annoying tourist, Mom was Cruela DeVil, Kelsey was a football player, Dad was a tattoed biker, I was a Braves player, and Henley was Minnie Mouse. Mark had been in Lyman until right before the party so he didn't dress up.

Corn Maze

This weekend Mark's family came to town, and we all went to the American West Heritage Center. We went to do the corn maze, but there is actually a lot to do there. You just pay for the corn maze and it includes all the games and seeing some animals for free.

Henley was so excited to go in with the animals. Jillian was a little bit more nervous but eventually they all went in to pet the animals.

Next was the hay jump, again Jillian was nervous but eventully Mark got her to jump/pulled her in. This pic is of Mark throwing Henley like he enjoys doing and she loves it.

The corn maze. We ended up getting pretty lost but it was a lot of fun. Eventually, Anne and Jillian ditched us and beat us out. Oh well.

Thriving Ivory Concert

Saturday night me and Mark went down to Salt Lake for the Thriving Ivory concert. I had won tickets on the 101.9 (The end) radio station a couple of weeks ago. The radio station had reviewed their CD a couple weeks ago and I loved it. Then they decided to do a small concert with them and we went. They were really good live and we had fun. I guess they are kind of big in other states, but this was the first time they played in Salt Lake. It was fun to go on a little date with Mark and listen to some good music. If you have never heard of the band, you should check them out. I just added two of their songs to my playlist if you want to listen. The guys voice is very different and you will either love it or hate it. I love it.

Our Little Mermaid

Well, Henley has been really into Disney movies lately and her favorite it "The Little Manaid" as she calls it. She will watch the entire movie if I were to let her, but she doesn't like the scary parts too much. This was a video Mark took right after she got out of the shower one morning. She is singing the Mermaid song which she sings all the time, I just thought it was pretty funny.

Pumpkin Picking

We went to pick our pumpkins for Family Home Evening Tonight. We always go to a house in North Logan, which is close to where Mark used to live before we got married. Henley was so excited the whole way there. She told me she wanted a "big punkin". But, when we got there she loved the little pumpkins and she ended up getting two tiny ones and one small one. Eventually she started throwing the pumpkins so we knew it was time to go. I was the one taking the pictures so they are not great, sorry.

Decorating for Halloween

I'm not sure why we have so many pictures of this monumental event but we do. My mom and sister Kelsey brought over so Halloween window decals and a Halloween bag for Henley. She was asleep but when she woke up she had fun sticking them on the window.

Minor Problem

Well this morning Henley had a minor problem that turned into quite an ordeal. She was trying to put a stick-on earring on her ear but ended up sticking it in her ear and it got stuck. I tried to get it out but I could tell I was only going to hurt the situation so I called the doctor and they said to bring her right in before it got worse. Luckily Mark wasn't at work yet so he was able to come with me and it turns out it was a good thing he was there. She wasn't it pain but we wanted to get it out obviously. She actually remembered the office from being there a few days ago when she had shots and she kept pointing to her leg and saying "Mommy shot, ouch." I finally convinced her that she was not getting a shot and this wouldn't hurt. When the doctor finally came in, it took probably 30 minutes to get the dang thing out. Mark, the nurse, and myself were all holding her down (literally all of us) while the doctor held her head still. She was hysterical even though it wasn't hurting her. She didn't not want to be held down, she was crying and screaming, and was bright red. I felt bad but we knew they had to get it out. They had different tools and tried squirting water into it and finally after about a half hour they got the "earring" out and we got to keep it as a souvenir. They had to stop for a minute to let her catch her breath and they tried giving her a sucker and sticker. She looked and the sticker, looked at the "mean" nurse and screamed No and threw the sticker on the floor. The doctor was impressed by her strength and so were we. I'm glad she can stick up for herself even if we were just trying to help. Anyway, everything turned out fine and she was exhausted when we left. We asked if she wanted to eat lunch and she said "No, nap please". Ok, hopefully she learned a little lesson.

2. I love all holidays, yes all. I even love Labor day because it is just one less day of work and a day to find something fun to do. I especially love the big holidays, Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, 4th of July.
3. I love paying the bills, not actually paying them but as soon as we get paid I like getting all the bills paid so I know how much we have to spend/save.
4. I love Christmas Shopping. I am excited this year because I think we are going to try to do an Angel tree at work again and that is so rewarding to know you are helping people in need. I love that spirit of Christmas, not what I am going to get but giving to others.
5. I love being a mom and would actually like several more kids. I love playing with kids toys because I miss that part of being a kid. When Henley sits down to color I actually keep coloring long after she is done. I know pathetic.
6. I wash my hands ALOT. I wash them after I clean the house, before I get in the shower, and anytime they feel a little dirty. That probably goes back to the paranoid part.
